25% of couples are cooperative in child’s best interest. They “make plans for their children, discuss children’s problems, attempt to enforce similar rules between households, and back up each other’s parenting.” p.122

33% don’t speak, but don’t fight. “....they manage the logistics of visitation with little conflict and the children do not see their parents argue or undermine each other.”

33% are in conflict even around the children and are litigious. “These parents do not cooperate or communicate well....” “In these families, shared parenting arrangements should not be established. Instead, sole legal custody and primary physical custody should be given to the parent who provides the children with the least contested access to the other parent.” p.123-124

Access schedules are discussed, including split-week arrangements.
